Xander Shaw is a photographer based in Manchester, England.
His website is at www.flickr.com/xandershaw
He takes inspiration from photographers such as Robert Capa (best known for documenting the Spanish Civil War and World War II) for his determination and devotion and Ansel Adams for his spectacular monochromatic images.
Xander primarily uses a Canon 40D, but always keeps his Panasonic Lumix with him, just in case.
Xander says "I have days when I go about my normal routine: get up, go to work, come home and go to bed. However, I have other days when I can't help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer complexity and beauty of everyday things that we take for granted. It is on those days that the best moments can be captured." He continues to add, "Photographs are a way of expressing to everyone how you feel about life. I often find myself looking back through my repertoire and remembering how I felt at that very moment and appreciating how the world around me has changed."
